Located
in the Neukölln district of the city, Hutten Palast, translated as ‘Huts at the
Palace’, can probably claim to be the first
hotel to offer caravans as part of its choice of rooms
available.
A 200m ‘indoor playground’ provides
guests with the opportunity to experience the feel of a rural campsite while in
the confines of a converted factory in the heart of a major European city. The building, just over 100 years
old, has now been renovated with rustic wooden huts and caravans dotted around
the charming room.
Intended as a parody on the
German ‘Schrebergartenglück’ which roughly translates as 'spending time in a small garden surrounded by other garden
plots', where a sense of community is encouraged as happy campers discuss the
best of what Berlin has to offer.
